SWEET CAYENNES
We sure did get cucumbers this year. Keith loves pickles so I am going to try an easy recipe I came across today for dills.
I don't have a canner so I am going to use my stock pot and boil my quart jars first.
Quarter your cukes to fit into the jars
Make a brine using:
2 c. water
2 c. white distilled vinegar
2 tbsp pickling salt
Bring to a boil
Place one garlic clove peeled in bottom of jar with a few sprigs of fresh dill, pack the quartered cucumbers into jar tightly, pour brine to cover and wipe the lip dry, place the lids on. Put into boiling water for ten minutes and take out and let set. You should hear the lids pop. Be careful and use tongs or jar lifters. Let the pickles set up a few days before trying. Yummmmm
